Hello guys
I wanted to start a topic on viable cards and ideas for a SAC8 meld.
First off. We all know about the most common and typical Sac cards. Neverless I will make a quick overview.
The Twins
Abilities: Stoneskin, Twin Defense and Twin Terror
Stoneskin: is as usual one of the best abilities. It gives protection from Instakill, Retreat and Disposal. And as we all know, they can all ruin the whole fight, especially Disposal. Even more dangerous are these abilities on a creature with Sac. Because without a rune you already sacrificed one of your creatures and if you get retreated or instakilled the following round, you lost two creatures without any gain, and that is huge.
Twin Defense: is a unique ability and even though the chances that it procs with 30% is rather low, it can be devastating for the enemy. It basically act likes a dodge but on top of it, it also gives back Direct Damage of its own attack.
Twin Terror: is also a unique ability with a good 50% chance of activation. After every attack you will have a chance that it does a second attack, based on its own attack. And yet again Direct Damage.
On first sight that these two unique abilities are not that great, since Twins basestats are rly low even on lvl 15 but with the mighty SAC 8. These two abilities can rly wreck cards and one shot some monsters because your base attack gets heavily boosted. So Terror is rly the right words for these abilities. I stronlgy suggest a attack increasing rune next to stoneskin and sac, if you have them.
Anathema
Abilities: Stoneskin, Gas Cloud 8 and Bullseye
Stoneskin: as above. Gives you nice protection from these pesky Retreats, Instakills and Disposals.
Gas Cloud 8: in my opinion is a decent ability. Sure it does not fit perfectly into the rest of Anathemas kit but it does a nifty 240 dmg on 3 random enemys for two turns, for a total of 480. The good thing about it is, that it does not proc annoying spiky bits. And in some situations it can finish off a creature that otherwise would have survived. Sure there are better options but we still need things balanced right?
Bullseye: is a rly great ability and especially in the later parts of the game, one of the keys to break the enemys line, where you sometimes get flooded with Frost armor creatures. What it does is negates Dodge, Frost armor, Tought Hide and Dark Clone. And that is huge. It will not only make canfood out of these pesky HB recylers but also get rid of the commonly melded FA creatures, the enemy has the offer. Since Dodge creatures have naturally low HP pool, you will one-shot them 90% of the time. I nearly forget that it helps alot against Faen Heros with the Agile and later Lightfoot ability. What you always have to give a bullseye creature is the bullseye rune. It increases the dmg for 10% per level, when you are facing an creature, with one of the above mentioned abilities.
Alltogether we can say with the unique Stoneskin and Bullseye combo, is Anathema a top choice for Sac 8 meld. And as we know, even some of the Top players, still use him.
Pit Dragon
Abilities: Rebirth 6, Unbound and Bullseye
Rebirth 6: Good ol Pit Dragon gets as a lot of Mortii creatures a nice Rebirth. The chance of 50% is, I would say a good average for a Rebirth ability. Rebirth itself does not have a special function other then after destruction theres a chance that it will get back to your hand. In my opinion and after a few observations the chance of Rebirth is good 5% obove the actual number. But dont forget, it cant activate after Disposal and when there is Paragon or Geomancer on the field. The later mentioned makes the ability completely useless.
Unbound: it is good to say that Unbound is the twin of Stoneskin. It acts differently but also gives your protection from different Abilities. On the hand of Unbound it grants immunity to Delay, Seal, Discord, Frozen and Paralysis. In certain situations Unbound can rly be a savior and makes your creature from a useless sitting duck to a strong fighting turkey (my invention ). We all know situations where your Sac creatures get perma CC´d by the enemy and dies in the end without getting one shot at the enemy. In my opinion Unbound is a good ability and most of the time the enemy will have one of the mentioned CC´s, but it still is a bit weaker then Stoneskin.
Bullseye: we all know from above, Bullseye is a great skill and will make your fight a lot easier. It melts Fa like you are at beach and hits dodgers like a sniperrifle.
In my perspective Pit Dragon is a good altrnative to Anathema and can rly shine in some situations. Also the rly good basestats make him profite even more from SAC 8 and makes Pit Dragon one bulky Mofo.
Graboid
Abilities: Stoneskin, Ravage 7 and Sweeping Blow
Stoneskin: I think I dont have to repeat myself.... little hint: I´m just too lazy to repeat it again . Nice ability that is always usefull.
Ravage 7: unlike all the other abilities we have seen. This one is unique to Neander creatures and increases the Dmg that the creature does, against other Human creatures. In the case of Graboid it is a strong +105% dmg against all Human targets. Now for me this ability is a dubble edged sword. In some fights it can be completely useless and in others it can be devestating for the enemy and your Graboid bores through human flesh, like there is no tomorrow. But one thing we can say for sure. This ability is more usefull in the offensive. Simply because you can choose your target and it will most likely be a Human deck.
Sweeping Blow: and yet we have another super ability. Easy explanation here. Sweeping Blow will do dmg to your target and any adjacent Creatures. Ideally you will hit 3 targets in the worst scenario only 1. That skill is strong itelf but rly gets boosted by SAC 8. Because you will now do that big dmg not only to one but multiple targets. With that said. A Graboid can clean a board rly fast and you win the game faster then you can say IGG. Now back to Ravage 7, you can imagine that against humans the dmg will be abnormal. Bonus thing is, that for Ravage 7 to be triggered only your main target must be human and it will still do the boosted attack to any other creature, no matter what race it has.
Graboid is a rly strong pet and despite the long 6 turn timer, it is not such a big deal because of your Stoneskin, it can turn the tides in your favor. The only big problem we have here is, Frostarmor can downgrade him to a whimpy little worm.
So that was my little Guide and Overview on SAC 8 melds. I hope you made it to this point and thank you for your patience.
You can give your feedback on everything I wrote and I will appreciate it if you have something to Add.
Some conclussions I made are purely on reading and observation. I am rly happy, if you can give some Informations of your direct experiences on the battlefield.
This Guide is still under construction and when I have the time I will add two other SAC 8 options.
sincerely your devoted Apex Alliance member Xychant.
Ps: Maybe we can later add this post to our University section.
Edit: I wanted to add some tabs and adjustmets to get a better overview but unfortunately it completely ruins it when I posted it.
