The reason for me to start with this thread is because people still believe that Pit Dragon is a good card in the current meta. I don't say the card is bad, but I just tell you that Pit Dragon is not a good card in this meta. Anathema and Pit Dragon are both 5 star bullseye creatures which you can obtain from guild maps and have both good stats. So that's the reason why I compare those two.
Anathema:
ATK: 850
HP: 1960
Gas Cloud 8
Stoneskin
Bullseye
Usefull Melds: Sacrifice 8, Sneak 9 and Frost Armor
Pit Dragon:
ATK: 800
HP: 2190
Rebirth 6
Unbound
Bullseye
Usefull Melds: Sacrifice 8, Soul Snatch 8, Life Sap and Battleblow
Before we go deeper in the cards I'm going to take you through the current meta. The current meta is very simple too explain in a few words: Heavy (direct) damage and Rage Control. Aquarius and double Queen Tempress retreat are the cards for the Rage Control. Queen Tempress' impact in the meta is huge. Besides the skill osmose people meld retreat on it. This means that every creature without stoneskin or immunity goes back to deck. Does this mean that every creature needs stoneskin or immunity? No, but the revive and recycle creatures need to have it. Queen Tempress already got it, so only damage dealers could go without it. Does this mean that that it's usefull to have damage dealers without protection? No! When you have a sacrifice bullseye creature with a sacrifice rune on it it will not sacrifice a creature, but it will reduce it's HP to the minimum. Most of the time it's killed next round. Luckily your sacrifice bullseye has become a big whale on the field. When a simple Queen Tempress retreat sends it back to your deck you've lost two creatures on the field in two turns. That's not good!
With the current meta in our minds we can see two big differences between Anathema and Pit Dragon, stoneskin vs. unbound. Stoneskin protects against cards like Queen Tempress retreat while unbound protects Pit Dragon against lock-down skills. The current meta isn't about lock-down, so why does the creature need protection against it? Gas Cloud 8 from Anathema is very usefull, but not too shabby. Pit Dragon has rebirth 6. It grants it 50% to come back to your hand/deck when it's destroyed. With all the recycle and revives on your deck and Paragons in the opponents deck, rebirth has become a useless skill for damage dealers. You're better off with more protection.
When we sum it all up Anathema is the great winner of the current meta. Pit Dragon is not bad, but not good enough in this meta. Anathema is top choice and when you want to have a good second/third choice, go for Angel Prime immunity 9 and/or Michael immunity 9. Those cards fit in this meta.
